Esteemed Star Pat Finn, Famed For Parts in Seinfeld and The Middle, Has Died at 60 Years Old.

US actor Finn, who appeared in iconic television series such as "Friends", "Seinfeld" and "The Middle", has succumbed at 60 years old.

The comedy and improvisation performer passed away at his residence in LA this Monday having undergone treatment for cancer beginning in 2022, per media reports.

"Pat Finn never met a stranger - just potential friends he had yet to meet," his family shared in a statement.

They added that he had "experienced life to the fullest - with joy and exuberance".

A Notable Career on Screen

His initial on-screen part was on a show starring George Wendt in 1995, where he portrayed the lead character's sibling.

He was also seen in a repeating character on "Murphy Brown" in the latter half of the 1990s.

He played the part of a party host named Joe Mayo in "Seinfeld" in the late 90s, portraying a social organizer who would assign burdensome jobs to his guests.

During the end of the 90s and start of the 2000s, he appeared as a guest star on a variety of popular shows, including:

  • "King of Queens"
  • Friends
  • That '70s Show
  • House

His most famous role for his portrayal of Bill Norwood in The Middle, appearing throughout eight seasons between 2011 and 2018.

His film credits are It's Complicated (2009) and Santa Paws 2: The Santa Pups (2012).

A Life in Improv

Outside of his on-screen roles, Finn was a skilled improviser and worked as a teacher at the Colorado university, where he was an adjunct professor.

He was involved with a comedy group of six known as "Beer Shark Mice".

"Pat guided, supported, and advised countless students throughout the years and it would be difficult to find anyone anyplace who has anything negative to say about him," his loved ones expressed.

Paying homage, fellow actor Richard Kind noted there was "no kinder, gentler, funnier, authentic human being you could encounter".

"Perpetually optimistic, making those around him better and funnier. An excellent dad and person," he shared on social media.

The actor is leaves behind his wife Donna, his children, and his parents and siblings.
