Mohamed Salah Extends Regret to Liverpool Dressing Room, Discloses Curtis Jones
Curtis Jones has disclosed that the Egyptian forward apologised to the group of players following the fallout from his public comments.
What Happened
Salah was left out from a key Champions League match after criticising the club and suggesting his rapport with Arne Slot had broken down.
“Mo is his own man and he can say his own stuff,” Jones told Sky Sports. “His apology was clear and was like: ‘If I’ve affected anybody, I apologise.’”
The head coach has refused to disclose on whether he received a personal apology from the player.
Looking Ahead
The player stated that the dressing room atmosphere remained positive. “He was his usual self, he had a big smile on his face and everybody was exactly the same with him,” Jones added.
He also suggested that a competitor wanting to play is preferable. “I understand there are specific approaches you can express yourself,” he said. “Yet, should someone be happy to just sit out, then I think that’s a bigger problem.”
Team Form
Their results have remained strong in the matches since the interview fallout. He feels the Salah's words were not intended to destabilise the squad.
“In moments of frustration, it’s always been from a good place,” he finished. “That chapter is closed and we’re uniting strongly, performing and starting to win games.”
