R360 League Players Subject to Decade-Long Suspension from NRL

Rugby league's governing body has stated that participants who join the “counterfeit” R360 competition will be barred for a decade.

The new league, set to start in 2026, is hoping to draw rugby union and rugby league players with hefty contracts and a condensed playing schedule.

Top NRL stars have reportedly been approached by R360, which will include multiple men's sides and four women's teams located in large metropolitan areas worldwide.

The Samoan the player, who represents New Zealand Warriors in the league, has confirmed he has had negotiations involving the new organization.

Papenhuyzen, Lomax, Haas and Gray are also reported to be considering joining the new competition.

A group of rugby union teams, among them Australia, last week announced a restriction on athletes signing with R360 participating in global fixtures.

“We heard our teams and we've responded strongly,” stated the league's head V'Landys.

“Unfortunately, there will persistently exist organizations that try to exploit our game for monetary profit.

“They fail to contribute in pathways or the advancement of talent. They merely capitalize on the hard work of other organizations, putting players at risk of monetary damage while benefiting financially.

“In truth, they represent, counterfeiting a code.”

R360 is established by former England World Cup winner Mike Tindall and supported by commercial backers.

Subsequent to the potential rugby union prohibitions were declared earlier, it said: “We seek to cooperate together as a component of the international rugby schedule.

“The competition is designed with tailored timetables for male and female sides and R360 will allow all athletes for global fixtures, as written into their contracts.”

R360 will apply for endorsement for its plans from rugby union's governing body, rugby union's governing body, at its official gathering in the coming year.
