The British player made it to the third stage in three out of four Grand Slams during the season.

Emma Raducanu from Great Britain has withdrawn from her remaining competitions this season due to a health issue that has affected her in recent days.

The 22-year-old had planned to participate in events in Asia but chose to travel back to rest and recuperate ahead of launching next year's training.

These plans are set to feature coach Francisco Roig, as the pair have agreed to work together again next season.

The tennis professional required blood pressure checks in her opening round against Ann Li in Wuhan last week and withdrew when behind 6-1 4-1 on a day with extreme humidity.

Another medical visit was necessary medical attention at the Ningbo Open this week, where she was defeated in three sets to Chinese wildcard Zhu Lin in the opening round.

Her movement was noticeably restricted in the third set in the match with Zhu because of back discomfort that has affected her during parts of the season.

Such performances followed a positive campaign, in which Raducanu rose into the international top 30 after a long gap since her previous ranking, finished with a trio of defeats.

The athlete was close to victory with three match points before losing to Pegula in round three in the Beijing tournament last month.

She secured 28 matches during 2025 and advanced to the semis in the Washington tournament, but her most impressive week was at the Miami event in March.

As Britain's top player reached the quarter-finals of this WTA 1000 tournament, overcoming Emma Navarro, the eighth seed on the way prior to a loss in three sets to Pegula, ranked fourth.

She was coached by Mark Petchey as coach from the Miami event through Wimbledon, with Roig taking over for the US Open.

The initial agreement with Rafael Nadal's former coach was for the remainder of the year but they will keep working together, with a training block pencilled in for the end of the year.

Raducanu told that the trial session with Roig post-Wimbledon was like a "secret mission" as they aimed to maintain secrecy.

She came very close to defeating top-ranked Aryna Sabalenka at their first tournament together in Cincinnati during August.

Roig joined her in the New York tournament, where she made the third stage prior to losing to 2022 Wimbledon champion Elena Rybakina.
